This week, I went to see the Barbie movie. It surprised me for sure. I was expecting something more stiff with less funny dialogues. Loved the soundtrack, loved the costumes and a general vibe . But I agree it wasn't really moving - my eyes didn't get watery even a tiny bit. Now I'm planning when to see Oppenheimer 🤩

Sorry late reply Stygi - I spent the weekend in he countryside with little to no signal! Very glad to hear you enjoyed Barbie! Will we see a MC post dedicated to the soundtrack? 👀

Also, did you manage to see Oppenheimer over the weekend?

No worries, I’m offline a lot these days, really enjoying the asynchronous type of communication 😉

Good idea 💡

Nope, I sadly haven’t been able to do it. I’m hoping to catch up this weekend

Ah really? Does that mean off of everything or just/mostly socials?

Oppenheimer is definitely the kind of film you should try to see while it's still in cinemas. It won't be the same at home on a TV. If you manage to watch it, let me know what you think!

At the beginning it was like an experiment - how long I'll manage without posting and scrolling thru sm like Insta or YT? Then it has expanded over different activities. It was awesome when this detox clicked after a month or so. I enjoyed giving myself more time to process messages, business emails and stuff like that. It gave me crazy amount of relief and space to do other things. I've returned to working out daily, drawing and reading for pleasure (not only for business purposes). It could be something like burnout I think.

It's the last week they play it at my local cinema, so I'm definitely going to finally see Oppenheimer 🙈

Amazing! Glad you're enjoying the digi-detox. I like to think I do a good job of staying away from my screen, but I've been pretty bad recently 😅

Do let me know if you manage to it - it's definitely a film you need to see in the cinema!

I did enjoy it! Thought it was too dialogue heavy at some parts, but a really well done film. Score was amazing.

I'm glad to hear it! Deffo more dialogue-led than I was expecting, but I blame the trailers for setting those expectations. That said, I can't now imagine it being made any other way — and nor would I want it to be.
