Have loved Josh O’Connor since he came into my view on The Crown in 2019, so exciting to see him doing so well. La Chimera is on my watch next list now!

I've never seen The Crown, so the first time I saw him in anything was Challengers a few weeks ago. His performance there caught my attention, but he's fantastic in La Chimera, to such an extent that I'd watch whatever film he does next.

Based on what you said about Love Lies Bleeding, I think (and hope!) you'll like La Chimera. If you do get to see it then I would love to know what you think.

I also saw an interview Josh did with a YouTuber, and he comes across very friendly and grounded... he almost seems a bit shy, which is quite strange to see in an actor of his status. Here's the link if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7AJAFQYr6w

I can't wait to see it, hoping maybe tonight!! And lovely, I will definitely check out the interview! Are you much of a television person or do you stick mostly to films? I wonder if you'd like The Crown!

Ah, did you manage to see it? If so, what did you think??

I do like a good TV boxset, and having just finished the second searies of Fargo we're in-between shows at the moment... though, The Crown has never appealed to me, though I know people rave about it. Without getting too political, I think I'd struggle to put my feelings about the monarchy to one side.

I loved it!! I want to watch it again. I wish I had gotten to see it in theaters -- with such a limited release, it was nowhere near me. So I watched it on my laptop ha. The ending was so surprising and beautiful and emotional! Such a special film and story, and I definitely want to watch Alice Rohrwacher's others!

Understandable re the Crown! I think I can relate in that I'm not much interested in shows about the White House or US politics? ...everyone loved House of Cards and I said, no thanks.

Oh I'm so glad! I'm also thinking about watching it again... I think there's a lot of depth that might only be visible on a second watch. 'Happy as Lazzaro' looks good too, which is currently on All4 (if you're in the UK or have a VPN 👀)

Gotta be honest, I did like House of Cards... all the plans within plans. Love a bit of deceit. There was a British original in too, but quite old and I never saw it.

hugely agree with the comments on the soundtrack and the absence of it at times! audibly one of my favourite films of the year

Oh I'm glad you agree! It's always nice have shared thoughts and opinions on a film, especially when it comes to the kind of details that can be quite hard to miss.
