I read your review, and I was hoping to disagree.. and I’m glad to say I did! I really enjoyed Don’t Look Up. I found it a little depressing at times but on the whole I found it funny, and thought provoking. I don’t think I could watch it in the cinema, but at home with a box of pizza it was a fun watch.
Loved the “I wear a pin with an up and down arrow” bit.
I’m glad you enjoyed it, I thought it was unnecessarily long and just not quite funny enough - it does mirror wider society’s general denial of scientific fact, but I found that depressingly scary.
Great timing with Klaus! 👏 Now I don't have to do the research on my own on what to watch at tomorrow's movie night 😉🍿📺. Seeing George MacKay in the trailer of "Munich - The Edge of War", made me think of his role in "Captain Fantastic", which I've seen a couple of weeks ago. I've really enjoyed his acting there. It was such a brilliant movie. I've been looking forward to your review of "Don’t Look Up". And I'm so disappointed to read that it didn't match the expectations. What a waste of a brilliant cast! Thanks for preventing me from buying tickets. And "The Big Short" - I have had it on my must-watch list for months now. If you recommend it, maybe I'll seed it up and see it this weekend.
So glad I’ve managed to fix your movie night conundrum! Klaus really is such a lovely Christmas film, it’s a modern day classic without a doubt. I keep mixing George MacKay up with Max Schimmelpfennig from Dark, and then I can’t figure out where I know him from before realising that yes, you’re right he’s in Captain Fantastic, another brilliant film!
I was disappointed by Don’t Look UP, but other people might like it more. It comes to Netflix next week (though I’m not sure about Poland), it might be one you put on for 30 minutes just to see what you think, rather than risk the cost of a cinema ticket. The Big Short on the other hand is really good, and not too dry considering how boring finance can be 😂

Obviously going to watch the most Christmassy film ; Die Hard.
