Elvis, hasnāt entered the buildingā¦
Itās been a strange weekā¦ On Friday I booked flights to Sicily, on Sunday I flew out and on Tuesday I flew back. None of this was scheduled and as a result, Iāve not managed to see this weekās feature film.
However, this is good news for you, as it means more Salty Popcorn. Next week weāll publish the full review of Elvis along with all the usual content you know and love. In the meantime, youāll get this āliteā version of SP with everything but the feature review.
On top of that, the SP Film Club will be making a comeback this weekend! For new subscribers, this is your chance to get tailored film recommendations based on your tastes.
All you have to do is name your favourite films, actors, directors or genres and I (or the community) will give you some recommendations. For a better idea of how this works, check out last yearās SP Film Club.
Youāll get another email tomorrow with a link to the thread, which will stay open for the whole weekend!

Thirteen Lives
UK: 29 July // USA: 29 July

Fact of the week
According to IMDB, production for Gone Girl came to a four-day shut down after Ben Affleck (a Red Sox fan) refused to wear a Yankees hat for a scene. For anyone unfamiliar with baseball, this would be like asking an Arsenal fan to wear a Tottenham shirt.
The Bostonian actor said to director David Fincher, āDavid, I love you, I would do anything for you. But I will not wear a Yankees hat.ā
Eventually, the two settled for Affleckās character to wear a Mets cap and Fincher ājokinglyā described Affleck's actions of this as āentirely unprofessionalā.
